Tempest Development Group Inc.
Landing a huge client with a population of more than a half a million people, is a tremendous coup for any company. But it also poses a unique set of challenges for a small, growing company.
Tempest was formed in 1992 by municipal industry experts Tim Perry and Mike Jensen. While they were comfortable with the complexities of providing software for municipal governments, serving larger and larger clients required an influx of capital and additional business management expertise.
"Tim and I recognized that to take Tempest into new markets and to develop new products, Tempest needed a partner with capital, experience and corporate infrastructure," says Mike Jensen, who now serves as Tempest's Director of Client Services. Tim Perry, now Director of Development, concurred, "We felt that StarDyne Technologies Inc. was the right partner to help us deliver software in the future that will meet the changing requirements of the local government sector.”
From StarDyne’s perspective, Tempest broadens StarDyne’s product offerings (both complementary and competitive), allows for growth in large municipalities and other geographic markets and increases the opportunity to cross-sell other products within the StarDyne Group Companies.
