Partner in Efficiency

Each year hundreds of customers participate in FortisBC PowerSense programs to help improve the energy efficiency of their homes and businesses.
Some customers choose to participate in the Partners in Energy Efficiency (PIE) program to maximize their  long-term savings and commitment to green business practices. PIE members include municipalities, schools, hospitals, and other large commercial and industrial accounts. With this higher level of involvement, FortisBC enters into a Partner In Efficiency agreement with these customers.
What does PIE involve?

  • An agreement is signed between the customer and FortisBC
  • The customer agrees to review their capital expenditure plan with FortisBC on an annual basis to identify key projects that have an impact on energy use
  • FortisBC works with the customer to determine the economics for energy efficient upgrades to the project
  • Recommendations for improvements are presented with estimated costs, savings, applicable rebates
  • Rebates are presented upon project completion
  • Monitoring and evaluation are carried out as required

By entering into the PIE agreements our large customer are ensured they are operating at the highest levels of energy efficiency.
